Knitting

One of the commissions I was working on was a cowl for my friend Val. She had picked some yarn from the stash I had with me at a crafting weekend. I tried crocheting with it but it just didn't do the self-striping sock yarn justice. I tried knitting in the round with it which is what it needed but I didn't have a short enough circular needle. So I order one and got to work. I think it turned out pretty good and she loved it.It's just a simple knit in the round, rolled edged cowl. A portable turtle neck, if you will. Nice and simple but it seemed like it took me forever to finish it. Small needles + small yarn = a lot of stitches!!

Wow! Has it been THAT long??!!

I didn't realize it was that long since I posted. I got a few commission to crochet/knit and have been steadily working on those. But, I'm almost finished with them. Then I'll finish the Market Bag. Meanwhile, I'm going to participate in The Crochet Crowds Mystery Crochet Along I found on Pinterest. (check this link: http://www.thecrochetcrowd.com/en/newchallenges/1596-mysteryadventure.html) I already had three colors of Red Heart in my stash from other things so I'm good to go on yarn. This should be fun! I'll post pics of what I've been working on today or tomorrow.

Have a great day!

I'm participating in the Market Bag Pin-along on Pinterest.

Here's the link and hopefully it works: http://pinterest.com/briasolo/market-bag-crochet-pin-along/ but if not just type it in.

I don't have Cotton-ish yarn to use for this because I shopped from my stash, but want to get some to try. I think it will be great to work with. Check out Vickie Howell's website for the pattern and info on how to join in.

Have fun!

Hello! Here I am

I set this blog up a long time ago. Life got crazy and I completely forgot I had done it. I am a self-taught crocheter and knitter and I love to read. I'm hopefully going to post about my adventures in combining crochet and knitting. Some of the cast-ons for knitting are just crazy and I can crochet a foundation faster than I can cast-on knitting. I've got a cowl going that I will post photos of later. I've crocheted the cast-on edge and I'll crochet the cast-off edge when I get done.
